about

It’s been a while since I released new Blue Acres songs. This one came together in the fall, and while it’s not really a ‘single’, thanks to those of you who encouraged me to release it.

It’s a song about burnout, feeling heavy & just trying to grasp a moment’s relief. It’s about a sigh. It’s about wishing you could take a day off and drive to a local waterfall. And it’s about wishing that would make enough of a difference to keep going.

Much love & thanks for listening.

lyrics

maybe I can rent a car and leave the city
clock out the nine to five
these past few weeks have been so heavy
i just want to feel alive

if i drove up to the waterfall
at the entrace of the night

maybe i will come around
with water falling down

i know i can't rewrite it all
at the entrance of the night
